Wavy hair sometimes needs a cut.
But not always at a salon.
This video is an authentic record of a real cut, with me and my client. It came from practice, from a client's need and from a situation many women with wavy hair face.
I'm Dana Loučková, a hairdresser from Měnín and a perm advocate. In this educational film I show you how to style wavy hair at home so it regains shape, lightness and natural wave without another perm.
"How to cut your own wavy hair (and have fun doing it)" is an edited, subtitled record of an online call with my client Tereska. She has permed wavy hair, lives far from the salon and wants to maintain her hair without frequent visits. After a few months her perm grew out, the wave stretched and the style lost shape.
Instead of another perm we chose an online cut, which:
Me in my salon with naturally wavy hair. Tereska at home. Each of us cut our own hair.
The result is an authentic, very practical and even a little fun film that shows you how to think when cutting wavy hair — not just where to snip.
And above all how to keep things light, humorous and calm even when you're doing something for the first time.
Strong Moravian accent, lots of laughter, naturalness and a real situation. No acting.
This isn't a sterile tutorial. It's a real cut of wavy hair, including explaining, deciding and how hair responds.
The video offers a practical guide for cutting at home.
With respect for hair and for you.
With this purchase you get a free bonus video: "That kind of home cut"
A short clip of me cutting my own hair. It's a bit of fun — but still instructional, to show that the goal isn't perfection or a video-perfect style.
The goal is function and understanding the principle.
Enjoy!
